I like music a lot. I listen to it all the time. I make video edits to music, I base illustrations off music, I relate lots of my experiences to music. I like it enough to say that I listen to "everything" but there's two specific kinds of music I would say describe me as a person.

  1. Electronic (2000s breakcore, glitch, experimental, noise)
  2. Nu metal, Alt metal, Rock, Industrial

Anything loud, energetic, angry. That's the kind of music I enjoy and identify with most. But I don't always want to listen to music that makes your ears bleed. One of my my guilty pleasure genre is vaporwave; Luxury Elite, Telepath, Windows 96.

Because I listen to "everything" I don't feel the point telling every genre I like a couple songs from. I think it's good to be open to everything musically while having those types of music that really reflect who you are.

my music player

I got into having a local copy of my Spotify library, I really enjoy the freedom and control I have over the music I want to listen to. The music player i use is Audacious since it was highly rated in my software manager. Its a music player that lets you use old Winamp skins from the webamp museum. I'd like to learn how to make my own cuz I want to make an AKIRA one....

These are listed in alphabetical order, not by favorites, but every top favorite of mine is in bold. If the title has an ellipsis (...) hover it to see the full name.

notable artists

  1. Lauren Bousfield - (Including all her projects.) She's my top artist of all time. I discovered her in 2022 and have had her as #1 since. I made a page about her a while ago.
  2. 芸能山城組 - Geinoh Yamashirogumi. Amazing collective. Made the Akira soundtrack so I'm biased but I enjoy everything they make beyond their "Akira sound."
  3. Nine Inch Nails - So much of their music means something to me. With Teeth will forever be my favorite NIN Album but I also like Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, The Downward Spiral, Year Zero and Add Violence.
  4. Slipknot - I'm edgy, I like edgy music. I've been hearing Slipknot for decades now. I kinda wish they'd break up and be done with it, their time's passed, but Vol 3 and Iowa will always be favorites.
  5. death grips - varied sound, varied visual language. they're famous for a reason and they make amazing music what else can i say.

video game ost

i'm separating these from the main albums because it's easier. i play a lot of video games... not as much anymore but these are all the video game OSTs i like along with some of my favorite tracks from them.
